Winter Park Turns 70
Saturday, August 14th, 2010
Winter Park, Colorado’s longest continually operated ski resort, will turn 70 this winter and will celebrate by opening the new village cabriolet lift, a feature of nearly all Intrawest resorts. The open-topped gondola provides slope access
Winter Park will also celebrate the completion of its new slopeside resort complex, The Village at Winter Park Resort.
The ski area covers over 3,000 acres of varied terrain, is the closest major ski centre to Denver International Airport, 67 miles/107km away, as well as being one of North America’s biggest.
Last season, Winter Park Resort received 9.8m (nearly 33 feet) of snow and recent on-mountain enhancements including four new lifts in the past five years.
