US Ski Resorts Prove Perennially Popular

Ski holidays were popular in the US during the 2006/07 period, according to new figures.
National Ski Areas Association (NSAA) reports that a Kottke End of Season Survey indicated ski areas in the United States received 55.1 million visits in the 2006/07 period, an increase of 0.4 per cent on the preliminary estimation.
Such news highlights the perennial popularity of US ski resorts such as Aspen, Breckenridge, Beaver Creek and Whistler, which have all seen good snow conditions for skiers this season.
According to NSAA, the 2006/07 was the sixth best ski season on record with the the Rocky Mountain region seeing an 0.6 increase in visits reaching a record 20.8 million.
Meanwhile, for those looking to enjoy the fun of a family ski holiday,safety is often a priority.
Vail, placing second in a recent survey of top ski resorts, was awarded Best Overall Safety Programme by NSAA earlier this year.
