Wednesday, August 18th, 2010
California’s Squaw Valley has announced a raft of improvements for the coming winter 2010-11, with an onus on upgrades for children to make family ski holidays there still better.
On the mountain Squaw Valley USA will transform the ‘old’ Belmont terrain park into a new ‘Kids’ fun zone’ which will include a play fort made of snow, and child sized terrain features including bumps, jumps and whoopty-doos.
A brand new trail map designed especially for children will show this new facility as well as Squaw Valley’s other mountain secrets that might interest youngsters. The map will also provide interesting facts about the mountain’s animals, natural habitat and history and create an adventurous route around the mountain .
Down at the resort base the Squaw Kids Children’s Center, is being renovated for winter 2010/11. The improvements of this pioneering eco-friendly building will mean quicker registration traffic to get kids admitted faster, an enlarged second floor, a larger lunch room and more space in the rental room to fit in more ski helmets!
