Friday, May 18th, 2007
Mammoth Mountain Ski Area, which claims to be the last resort presently open in the Nevada or California area, has announced that it will be open until May 28th 2007 for those on a ski holiday.
The resort will remain open until this date to give those of you wanting to take advantage of the last chance to enjoy the snowy peaks at Mammoth Mountain this season, according to Ski Press World.
"Mammoth Mountain is open from top to bottom with 3,100 vertical feet of skiable terrain," reports the skiing multimedia company.
It adds that visitors can also make use of the 18-foot high and 450-foot long superpipe at the resort designed for freestyle skiers and those on a snowboarding holiday.
Events taking place over the last skiing weekend at Mammoth Mountain include a sneak peek sale, the start of the fishing season at the Lakes Basin and the opening of the Sierra Star Golf Course.
Mammoth Mountain Ski Area reports a current base depth of one to three feet of snow, with machine-groomed spring conditions on the ground.
