Wednesday, November 14th, 2007
A $5.3 million (£2.6 million) investment drive is to help the USA resort of Killington enhance its guest experience, it has been announced.
Snowmaking system upgrades, new lodge fit-outs and a fresh lick of paint for lifts and accommodation are to be included in the programme, which is also to encompass moves to make the resort more environmentally-friendly.
"This will be our first season as a new company and we’re focusing on improving our overall product and the guest experience," said Chris Nyberg, Killington Resort and Pico Mountain president and general manager.
New children’s programmes and lift access products are also to be implemented as part of the schedule of ski holiday innovation.
Additionally, the resort’s Low Energy snow gun arsenal is to be increased by ten per cent for the 2007-09 season, while extra electric outlets have been installed on mountains to enable energy-efficient fan guns to be used more often.
Located in central Vermont, Killington is made up of seven ski areas.
