Copper Mountain Catches Fire
Wednesday, October 1st, 2008
Copper Mountain in Colorado, USA has announced plans to run a fire themed festival night on a dozen nights through the coming winter.
‘En Fuego’ will be a family friendly event based in the new Village at Copper and will take place between 6 and 8pm on each of the nights it is staged.
“Copper is literally on fire with En Fuego, regularly featuring bonfires scattered throughout the village to keep children’s hands toasty warm,” said a resort statement.
The event will include a free street party, Copper’s Ski & Ride School performing a torchlight parade where hundreds of instructors ski down the mountain in a snake-like parade, fire jugglers that dazzle and the grand finale – a brilliant fireworks display.
From time to time, En Fuego will also feature specialty entertainment including a big air show with the Copper Mountain Freeride Team, professional ice sculptors, graffiti artists and meet-and-greets with huskies from a dog sledding team.
En Fuego will be staged on November 29th, December 13th, 20th and 24th, January 10th and 17th, February 14th and 21st and March 14th, 21st and April 4th.
