Colorado Welcomes Skiers Early
Friday, November 2nd, 2007
A number of resorts in Colorado are opening early, it has been reported.
Keystone and Copper Mountain resorts are both welcoming tourists on ski holidays a week earlier than scheduled, according to the Associated Press.
The news comes after two other resorts in the state – Arapahoe Basin and Loveland – became the first two Colorado ski spots to open early, readying the slopes for fun by October 10th and October 16th respectively.
Keystone, meanwhile, has reported a 12-inch base of snow – sure to send keen early-season skiers soaring down the slopes.
Other ski centres in Colorado are timetabled to begin the season between November 9th and December 19th, the news provider states.
The Colorado ski news follows a report in the Telegraph that Austrian resorts are opening as early as six weeks ahead of schedule.
Winter sports spots including Hintertux are tempting tourists with thick layers of snow, the publication states.
