Winter Is Not Over
Wednesday, April 30th, 2008

Skiers have been told that winter is not yet over, despite the fact that May is fast approaching.
According to the Ski Club of Great Britain, many ski resorts are still open in Europe, while there are plenty of artificial slopes in the UK and beyond to practice on if you can’t get abroad.
"Don’t forget you can still ski in Tignes, Val d’Isere, St Moritiz, Argentiere, Val Thorens, Saas Fee and Zermatt. The season isn’t over yet," the Ski Club notes.
Ski Club rep James Cove recently claimed to have had the best day’s skiing of the season in the Swiss ski holiday resort of Saas Fee thanks to bountiful fresh powder snow and empty ski slopes.
Sussane Voide from the resort’s tourist office added that April is one of the best times of year to ski in Saas Fee due to the extra hours of daylight and "wonderful" weather.
The Ski Club’s golden rule for late season skiing is "aim high" to resorts like Tignes and Val d’Isere, while it is also a good idea to check the snowfall in previous years for the late winter and early spring months.
