Verbier Favoured As Royal Resort
Tuesday, March 25th, 2008

Princess Eugenie, sixth in line to the throne of Great Britain, was accompanied on a family ski holiday to Verbier by her mother and sister over the Easter weekend.
The Duchess of York, Sarah Ferguson, and the princess’s older sister Princess Beatrice joined Eugenie on an Easter ski break to the Swiss ski resort in celebration of her 18th birthday.
Unlike her older sister, Eugenie chose to celebrate the special occasion with an intimate ski trip with family and close friends rather than mark the event with a lavish ball at Windsor Castle.
In 2006, Beatrice held a full-scale costume ball at the royal residence to celebrate her own 18th birthday.
Describing herself and her sister as "chalk and cheese" in an interview, Eugenie recently noted: "I like just throwing on a pair of jeans and generally being more understated, but Beatrice is more ‘Let’s do the glamour!’"
The news of the royal rendezvous comes as the Ski Club of Great Britain reports that Verbier is currently very busy as people travel to the resort to enjoy the fresh snow that fell in recent days.
