Verbier Competition Looms
Thursday, March 22nd, 2007
The Swiss ski resort of Verbier is set to be awash with amateur skiers giving it their all in April, as the Verbier Challenge Cup returns for another year.
On April 5th the competition – which is open to all ages and abilities – will be in full swing, with plenty of prizes up for grabs in this Ski Club of Great Britain-sponsored giant slalom.
Goggles, hoodies, skis and t-shirts are all among the prizes awaiting the winners of the 11 different categories that are in place for the Verbier Challenge Cup, at what is one of Switzerland’s most popular ski resorts.
Entry into the competition starts from as little as £6.40 for children, according to the Ski Club’s website, but even if you are not involved in the competition, it should be a great time to head to the slopes for a ski holiday.
Verbier has had plenty of snow recently, with 160 of the resort’s 190 pistes open for action with the season in full swing.
