Snow and Golf in Engelberg
Friday, May 8th, 2009
Although the winter has ended now at most ski resorts in Europe, Engelberg in Switzerland is still open for snow sports on its Titlis glacier, served by a high speed six-seater ‘ice-flyer’ chairlift.
In the valley below however, more traditional warm weather sports are taking off as the snow melts , and the two styles come together on the weekend of 16 and 17 May with the resort’s annual Snow and golf competition, open to all.
The 18-hole golf tournament is staged on Saturday 16th followed in the evening by a dinner at Ski Lodge Stand on the Titlis ski lift, followed by a Champagne reception at 10.30pm.
On the next day (Sunday, 17 May 2009) a giant slalom downhill race is staged. Start numbers are handed out from 10am at the Titlis revolving cable car Rotair lift station, with the race beginning at 1pm.
