Engelberg’s Titlis glacier can offer snow sports at any time of year, but the famous Swiss resort will finish its long 2009-10 season on May 22nd this year, re-opening early next autumn.
As the season winds down, one of resort’s most popular events, Titlis Snow & Golf, will be staged again on Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th May this year.
The event begins with a golf tournament on the resort’s 18 hole golf course, re-opened now the winter’s snow has moved away from, the village, some 2,000m below the glacier’s highest lift.
After the tournament, participants will enjoy a convivial Saturday evening dinner.
Then on the Sunday morning next day (9th May), competitors will head up on to the Titlis Glacier with it’s six-seat high-speed Ice Flyer chairlift to compete in a giant slalom downhill race.
