Party Month in Engelberg

February is party month in the Swiss resort of Engelberg’s which celebrates “Mardi Gras†craziness with a wide range of concerts and events including yoddling contests.
On 19th, 20th, 21st and 22nd February the celebrations move onto the slopes with local ‘Gugge’ bands providing music and a party-feeling at Berghotel Trübsee (in the afternoon) and at the Chalet (for après-ski) near the base station of Titlis.
Engelberg’s traditional carnival parade will take place this year on 21st February at 8pm. There will be colourful, funny—even frightening—costumed figures which will make their way along the Dorfstrasse toward the town park (Kurpark). Then in the adjacent Kursaal (entertainment hall) the party celebrations will continue into the small hours.
New sounds and old familiar favorites will fill the air on Friday, 27 February at 8pm in Engelberg’s monastery church. The Yodeler Club of Engelberg, as well as other performers, invite resort guests to join them for an evening of ‘heavenly’ music and special ambience.
Finally, just as in previous years, the Swiss Ski School of Engelberg-Titlis will “strut their stuff’ demonstrating what they can do on all levels on 18th and 25th February from 7:30 p.m. DJ Speaker will provide entertainment, and there will be a bar serving warm drinks and snacks.
