New Matterhorn Express Lift for Zermatt

Zermatt has announced a major new gondola will be installed ready for the coming winter 2009-10 ski season.
The famous Swiss resort, which is one of only two ski centres in the world that try to open for snow sports 365 days a year (weather permitting) has announced their new Matterhorn Express lift will link Zermatt, Schwarzsee paradise and Trockener Steg.
This extension of the Matterhorn Express aerial cable car from Schwarzsee paradise to Trockener Steg will be built in time for the next winter.
“ The new aerial cable car gives guests the ultimate in ride comfort, taking them to Trockener Steg without needing to change lift any more.†said a Zermatt lift company spokesman.
The ascent will take around 20 minutes in comfortable eight-seater gondola cabins.
