Latest iPhone App Provides Live Snow News
Thursday, February 4th, 2010
More and more ski iPhone apps are appearing for owners of Apple iPhone users. Options include resort guides, local guides from individual resorts and even apps that teach you ski technique as you slide down the slopes. They range in price from free-of-charge up to a few pounds, with many costing just pennies.
One of the most popular is a newly launched app from The Ski Club of Great Britain, sponsored by Land Rover, which differentiates itself from much of the competition by its cool, clear interface and ease of use. Better still it’s one of the few that can be downloaded free from the app store – look for ‘skiclubsnowreports ‘
The app features live snow report data from 250 resorts including snow depths, on and off piste conditions as well as webcams and the latest ski and snowboarding news.
” We’ve had excellent feedback about how quick and easy the app is to use, which is exactly what we wanted.†said the Ski Club’s New Media Manager Abi Lee, “The snow information provided on the app is the most accurate and up to date around and will be ideal for skiers and boarders who want to check conditions when they are on the move and even when they are in resort.”
