Eventful Month For Verbier

Britons travelling to Verbier for a new year ski holiday need not think that because Christmas is over the festivities in the Swiss ski resort have dwindled.
The January calendar for Verbier is filled with activities and events that should appeal to those on a family ski holidays as well as other groups of skiers.
This Saturday, January 5th, skiers can gather in the main square for a gluh wein, organised by HC Verbier ice hockey team with all proceeds raised being donated to the club. Those who stick around until the early evening will be able to watch the team take on rivals Monthey.
On the slopes, a demo-contest will be held between five professional skiers, five top snowboarders and five skilled bikers at the Snowpark La Chaux the following week on January 12th.
Annual free-skiing competition Verbier Ride is scheduled to take place from January 18th until January 20th within the La Chaux freestyle area.
Rounding off the action-packed month will be the Verbier Polo Arena Test Match, taking place between January 25th and 27th.
