Lucky Friday 13th As Livigno Opens Early With Free Skiing
Friday, November 13th, 2009
One of Italy’s best resorts, Livigno, has opened early for the season, this afternoon, and is offering free skiing to everyone visiting there during the next week.
The resort is now running its Carosello 3000 lift, parts I and II giving access to the “Polvere†slope.
But in addition to the surprise early opening, Livigno had a second still sweeter surprise when it announced the lift and ski slope will operate free during the first week to Friday 20th November. Guests can use them without a ski pass.
“The heavy snow last week followed by the lowering temperatures in recent days has given us the opportunity to produce artificial snow on top of mother nature’s bounty,†said resort spokeswoman Myriam Cusini.
From the 24th of November the Mottolino area will also open but initially only for the athletes prepring for FIS races up to 27th of November).
The lifts will then be open to the public starting from 29th of November, with another free skipass promotion running to Christmas Day, and then again at the end of the ski season from 17th April to 2nd May 2010.
This ski season also sees the opening of the huge Aqua Granda Livigno Wellness Park, a public leisure complex spread over 20,000 square metres which includes pools, fitness area, wellness area and beauty farm. Opening day for that is scheduled for Saturday 12th December.
