Heavy Snow In Italy So Livigno Opens Early
Sunday, November 16th, 2008
Livigno has opened two weeks earlier than planned because it has so much snow. Even better news for anyone going out there this week is that the resort is running the lifts for free until Friday!
The “Carosello 3000″ lift along with the “Federia” chair are open serving skiing on the „Federia” slope.
In the Dolomiti Superski area, covering 1,200km (750 miles) of piste across a dozen Italian ski valleys, the region got its first healthy snowfall of the season at the end of last week.
On Wednesday and Thursday some of the ski resorts received up to a foot (30cm) of fresh powder, covering the Dolomite landscape with a white mantle.
“This is a good sign for the winter opening on November 29 on the great slopes in the most beautiful mountains of the world.” said a Dolomiti Superski spokesperson.
