Year-round Ski Resort Guide Issued
Monday, October 1st, 2007
Following the recent publication of a top-ten early-season ski resort guide from the Guardian, a directory of the best resorts for each month of the ski season has been published by another UK newspaper.
According to the Independent, those looking to enjoy a Christmas ski holiday are best heading for the Austria ski resort that is Ischgl.
It claims the resort’s opening weekend is one of the "biggest in the Alps" and this year will feature singer Rihanna.
"Many people are talking about the La Nina effect and the fact it is going to bring lots of snow this winter. After an average year last year, the feeling is that we are going to get piles of powder," Caroline Stuart Taylor, chief executive officer of the Ski Club of Great Britain told the newspaper.
Meanwhile, Austria ski resort Kitzbuhel is recommended for ski breaks in January, with 100 per cent guaranteed snow coverage on the ski-safari route.
Perhaps for a family ski holiday, snow sports fans can head to France in March - as Flaine is recommended by the publication at this time of year.
