World’s Best Boarders In Mammoth This May

A group of the best snowboarders in the world will descend on Mammoth from May 1st to 3rd for the eighth annual West Coast Invitational.
Mammoth in California is famous for its huge snowfalls and is traditionally one of a half dozen or so North American ski areas that are still open in to May.
The weekend promises non-stop action with a Superpipe competition, a Rail Jam in the Village and an after party featuring Dilated Peoples.
Stars lined up to perform include Olympic medalist Danny Kass, local star Greg Bretz and others competing for a $10,000 cash purse in the Vans Fiesta de la Pipa Superpipe contest on Friday, May 1st.
On Saturday, May 2nd the athletes will battle it out under the lights in the WCI Rail Jam for another $10,000 cash purse. The event will feature a live DJ and a food and beer garden.
Once the action is over, the party moves up the hill to Canyon Lodge via the Village Gondola for a concert featuring music from Dilated Peoples, My-G, DJ MFM and more.
Both events are free to the public, entry to the after party at Canyon Lodge will be $5 in advance or $10 at the door.
