Weather Experts Suggest A Snowy Ski Season

Those looking to enjoy a ski holiday in the 2007-08 ski season could be in for a snowy one, it has been suggested.
According to a report by the Ski Club of Great Britain, weather experts believe that this year could be a "La Nina" year, with colder weather focusing on the Pacific north-west over the winter-time.
While forecaster for the National Weather Service in Seattle Dustin Guy warned that it is early in the season to predict winter snowfall, the ski club notes that Professor Clifford Mass suggests there could be cause to hope.
"The chances are we’re going to have more snow than normal, but there’s no guarantee. We do get significantly more snow in La Nina years," the Ski Club of Great Britain quoted the atmospheric sciences professor as saying.
The ski club claims that in the 1998 to 99 La Nina season, 95 feet of snow fell on Mount Baker according to the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration, representing the most snowfall measured in a single US season.
Meanwhile, the ski club reports that Europe received an amount of snowfall over the weekend, which may be of good news to those looking to book a Christmas ski holiday.
