Snow Forecast In Britain And Europe
Wednesday, January 2nd, 2008

Skiers at home and abroad could be in for a meteorological treat in the coming seven days after snow was forecast to fall in Britain and Europe.
According to the Ski Club of Great Britain, snowfalls across the Alps have provided those on ski holidays in the French resorts of Alpe d’Huez and Les Deux Alpes with 15 centimetres and 10 centimetres of snow respectively.
Snow flurries in the latter ski resort have allowed Les Deux Alpes to open 48 ski lifts this coming weekend.
Meanwhile, the Ski Club reports that heavier snowfalls are predicted for the two resorts from Thursday January 3rd.
In the UK, December snow has already fallen on many Scottish peaks and the country’s ski resorts may open earlier than planned if they receive the 19 centimetres of snow that has been forecast, the Ski Club claims.
The BBC has advised UK drivers to plan for snow by creating a journey plot before setting off and carrying warm clothing in their vehicles.
