Monday, April 7th, 2008

Over the weekend parts of the UK saw snowfall and the same conditions were also reported across Europe’s ski resorts.
The Ski Club of Great Britain reports that fresh snow fell in Alpine resorts in France and Austria, with resorts such as Argentiere, Avoriaz, Courchevel, Les Arcs, Verbier and Obergurgl in particular benefiting from a drop in temperature.
According to the Ski Club, Austria has fared the best in terms of the weather, with the resorts of Obergurgl and St Anton now due to remain open until April 27th 2008.
Other resorts set to remain open throughout April include Alpe d’Huez, Avoriaz, Courchevel, Les Menuires, Megeve, Meribel, Andermatt and Verbier.
Those looking to enjoy late season ski holidays may fancy a break in Argentiere, Chamonix, Tignes, Pitztal or Engelberg, all of which are scheduled to stay open until mid-May.
In Tignes, holidaymakers can try their hand at ice diving, dog sledding, hang gliding, skidoo riding, ice climbing, parascending and snowshoeing, as well as skiing.
