Snow Centre Backs British Olympic Hopeful

The Snow Centre in Hemel Hempstead, is supporting Britain’s number one male Alpine Skier, Ed Drake, in his bid for success at the coming 2010 Olympics in Vancouver, by hosting with a special fundraising event next Wednesday (October 7).
The indoor snow facility has teamed up with luxury ski holiday company Scott Dunn to host a VIP fundraising evening to raise money for Britain’s best hope of Olympic gold.
Ed, 23, is currently ranked sixth in the world in his age group having won 2009 Giant Slalom and Super G titles.
“I want to be an Olympian and ultimately my main goal is to win. I’ve been dreaming of taking part since I started racing, but it wouldn’t be possible without backing.†Said Ed.
The event will see a host of activities including a pro-celeb parallel slalom, the chance to try out new Snow and Rock kit, mingle with top sports personalities and the chance to win a top luxury holiday prize.
A spokesperson from official sponsor, Scott Dunn, said: “The fundraising evening is a great way to gather support for Ed’s Olympic bid. Backing him for the Olympics is an important cause but to encourage donations we’ve set up a raffle to win a luxury holiday.â€
