Skiers Should Keep Hydrated
Wednesday, April 2nd, 2008

While enjoying group ski holidays - which may include the odd lunchtime beer - Britons have been advised to keep hydrated on the slopes.
In an interview with the BBC, Betony Garner of the Ski Club of Great Britain noted that altitude can affect people more when it comes to drinking alcohol, so those drinking on the slopes could get drunk more quickly.
As such, she recommended drinking less than you would do at home while off the slope and sticking to just the one while on the piste.
Another point Ms Garner made was to drink plenty of water.
"If you do have a drink definitely stick to one and make sure you’re in control when you’re coming down the mountain," she advised.
According to the BBC, the tradition of apres-ski is "well known" and is "well marketed", as part of a ski holiday.
