New Quad For Park City
Tuesday, December 2nd, 2008
Park City Mountain Resort at Park City, Utah has spent $10.5 million on mountain improvements for the coming winter.
The biggest single spend has been on a new high-speed detachable chairlift that will greatly improve access out of the resort’s base area.
The new lift, replacing and realigning the current Ski Team lift, will take guests from the resort’s base area to the top of Crescent Ridge.
This will provide high-speed access to the majority of the resort’s terrain with direct access to five existing lifts including Silverlode, King Con, Bonanza, Pioneer and McConkey’s.
Other improvements include a new run and expanded snowmaking as well as renovation of the Mid-Mountain Lodge.
Park City Mountain Resort is 100% green energy powered thanks to the purchase of renewable energy credits which began last June.
The resort’s purchase of 13.9 million kWh of credits will avoid the emission of 19 million pounds of CO2 emissions annually, which is equal to removing 1,853 passenger vehicles from the road for a year.
