Fresh Powder Benefits Alps

Brits who took family ski holidays in Europe this Easter bank holiday weekend will have enjoyed great snow conditions - which look set to continue until April.
The Ski Club of Great Britain reports that over half a metre of snow fell on many Italian resorts over the weekend while it has also been snowing in the French Pyrenees.
And in Tignes, the Ski Club reports that fantastic snow conditions have left skiers thigh deep in powder in some areas.
"The conditions are quite simply the best of the season with light fluffy powder off piste and gorgeous soft snow on the piste," Ski Club member Sarah Vizard, who works in the Italian ski resort of Cervinia, commented.
A rep in the Swiss resort of Verbier added that the snowfall had provided some of the season’s "best" skiing.
Skiing in Alpe d’Huez meanwhile was described as "awesome" by a Ski Club rep who enjoyed blue skies at the weekend and waist deep snow.
And according to the Met Office, cold weather should preserve the snow for the coming ten days.
