Direct Flights To Formigal Begin

The first direct flight from London to the Spanish resort of Formigal in Spain has landed at Huesca airport in the central Spanish Pyrenees.
The new service provides a much improved connection for tour operators who have introduced what is now Spain’s largest ski area to their offering for the 2008-9 season.
It couldn’t be a better start to the season in Spain either as successive huge snowfalls over the past month have brought records-breaking snow depths to the region in time for a very white Christmas.
The flight time to is Huesca- Pirineos is one hour, 50 minutes, followed by a 75 minute transfer to Formigal.
The flight will run for the next 17 weeks of the ski season and as a special introductory offer, Aramon the company that runs Formigal and several other leading Spanish resorts, is giving away two lift passes for the price of one, on selected dates.
Formigal has a total of 137km (79 miles) of slopes and currently has base snow depths of between 70cm and two metres, and opened its pistes back in mid-November, the earliest for 15 years.
