The Chill FactorE ski complex near to Manchester’s Trafford Centre is beginning to take shape, it has been revealed.
A steel structure, which will eventually form the slopes of the complex, has been erected at the north-west site, the Manchester Evening News reports.
Due to open in October this year, the Chill FactorE claims it will introduce the UK’s longest and widest real snow indoor ski slope.
Furthermore, the venue will cater for the other winter holiday pastime, the apres ski, with a collection of bars and restaurants planned for the complex.
"Work is progressing well on site … the north-west will have one of the country’s most outstanding leisure destinations, appealing to a broad range of visitors, whether it’s for skiing or apres-ski, shopping or socialising, in a vibrant and stylish alpine ambiance," commented Chill FactorE chair Peter Moore.
The Chill FactorE will also feature a rock-climbing wall, a toboggan run, a children’s snowplay zone and an indoor skateboard park.
Following the cancellation of the renowned Kandahar ski championship in Chamonix this month, due to warm weather, the prospect of an upcoming British real snow ski slope complex could prove welcome news for UK ski enthusiasts.
