School Head Trains To Become Ski Instructor
Tuesday, January 22nd, 2008

A school headmaster has taken a term-long break from teaching at Mill Hill Primary in Stoke-on-Trent in order to train as a ski instructor at an unnamed ski holiday resort in the Alps, it has been reported.
Governors at the school approved the sabbatical break, which Andrew Warren says he will spend training as an instructor and also in order to "reflect and pray", according to the Telegraph.
Until his return from what some parents perceive to be an extended ski holiday, deputy headmaster Debby Heavey will take charge.
"The governors are satisfied that the children’s education is not being affected," chairman of governors Jean Edwards commented.
Meanwhile, Mr Warren’s wife observed: "Andrew has never had a day off sick in his life. He is having a breather so he can come back with fresh vim and vigour."
Last month, the Association of British Travel Agents reported that thanks to heavy early season snow, the 2007-8 ski season is promising to be "one of the best for sometime".
