Major Snowfall At US Resort
Tuesday, February 27th, 2007
Those planning on taking a ski holiday to America would be wise to consider the Utah resorts at this time of year.
According to First Tracks online ski magazine, the Salt Lake region has witnessed a major snow fall recently and some ski resorts now have base-depths of 100-inches.
Approximately one to two feet of snow fell over the last 24 hours and further snowfalls have been forecast for tonight, it reveals.
"The abundant snowfall we have experienced this month sets us up for fantastic spring skiing," Ski Utah president Nathan Rafferty told the magazine.
"These successive storms have brought us the quality snow that has long been synonymous with Utah."
Furthermore, the ski magazine reports that March is typically the month in which snowfall is at its peak in the state.
Ski areas in the Wasatch range that traditionally receive heavy falls of snow during the season include Alta, Snowbird, Brighton, Sundance and Solitude.
Alta describes itself as a skiers mountain and does not permit snowboarders.
