Japan Becoming A Popular Ski Destination

Although more often associated with towering skyscrapers, it is Japan’s high altitude mountains that are drawing an increasing number of tourists to the country, it has been revealed.
The Associated Press reports that ski holidays to Japan are becoming increasingly popular due to its excellent snow fall.
Furthermore, it reveals that powder snow in Japan often averages 45 feet per year and some ski resorts in the country remain open until May while opting for Japan could also prove a cheap ski holiday with one-day ski passes for Mount An’nupuri costing half the price of passes to Aspen Snowmass.
"There is so much snow here, it has real potential to become something special," Anthony Mellowes, a property developer from Sydney told the Associated Press.
"It’s fantastic because you’ve got great skiing plus the different culture."
Snow Japan reports that there are hundreds of resorts in Japan, listing popular destinations to be Niseko, Furano, Minakami and Hakuba.
