Impact Of BA Baggage Regulations On Skiers Revealed
Friday, February 9th, 2007
British Airways (BA) has announced a shift in its charging policies for excess baggage.
The amendments will have an impact upon skiers as the new policies come into effect from Tuesday February 13th.
The new policy states that on some long-haul flights there will be a maximum bag weight of 23 kg (51 lbs) and furthermore, only one piece of luggage will be allowed through check-in.
Still, ski-holidaymakers will be able to take one piece of sporting equipment with them free of charge - for instance skis, a snowboard or ski boots.
In a statement recently released, BA noted that it has always charged for excess baggage and is revising its policies in order to simplify them.
The airline also stated that it would not discriminate against passengers who would be unable to comfortably carry one piece of luggage at the specified weight.
In other current ski news, Dale Begg-Smith has won a dual moguls victory in the Ski World Cup.
The Australian beat Canadian Pierre-Alexandre Rousseau in the final.
