Skiers heading for Europe this week could find some of the best snow on the higher slopes in the Austrian resorts.
According to the BBC, destinations in the European country have seen an abundance of fresh snow this week, which has made for sound conditions on the higher reaches of the middle lift stations.
In addition, skiers and snowboarders off to France will be welcomed by fresh snowfalls which fell across the country over the weekend, including 20 cm on Serre Chevalier in one day alone.
While in Italy, expert skiers will find powder skiing is a distinct possibility on some of the Milky Way locations after 30 cm of snow landed on the resorts on Saturday, adding to the plentiful amounts already covering the slopes there in recent weeks.
A lighter dusting hit many of the most popular slopes in Switzerland, with Les Diablerets and Samnaun receiving 5 cm of snowfall during the weekend.
Meanwhile, Serre Chevalier’s own weather guide for tourists reports that the weekend saw the resort "dumping with snow", with big flakes experienced at altitudes of up to 1,500 m.
