Forecast For Snowy Ski Season Is Very Positive
Monday, October 15th, 2007
This ski season is set to be a snowy one, to the benefit of those on a ski holiday, if analysts’ forecasts are accurate.
The Ski Club of Great Britain recently reported that Professor Clifford Mass believes a La Nina year could bring more snow to ski resorts and now his hopeful comments have been added to by remarks made by Stuart McLeod, managing director for Crystal Ski Holidays.
Mr McLeod told the Ski Club of Great Britain that the winter’s forecast is "very positive" and added that he was "optimistic" about winter sales as people looked forward to a white Christmas.
"The forecast is very positive for this winter being an excellent season for snow," he told the Ski Club of Great Britain, adding that bookings from February were already "filling up".
Early-season skiers could consider heading to Tignes or Val Thorens in France, where some areas have already been opened for autumn skiing.
The Times recently claimed that Tignes is the best ski resort in France for snow as a result of its high altitude.
