Company To Provide Lunch Delivery To French Ski Slopes
Tuesday, February 13th, 2007
An entrepreneur has created the perfect lunchtime solution for hardcore skiers who do not want to take a break from the pistes in order to boost their energy levels.
Picnics On The Piste is a service that delivers snacks and drinks to skiers and snowboarders directly on the slope.
The company’s ski couriers will deliver locally sourced produce directly to a prearranged meeting point at a time set by the skier.
"Each of our picnics are named after the ski runs starter picnic is Green, then Blue, Red is our more challenging picnic and the exclusive Black picnic is reserved for gourmet customers," Picnics On The Piste founder Mark Strachan commented.
The Black picnic consists of luxury items such as smoked salmon, foie gras and chocolate truffles in addition to the standard fresh hot soup and baguette found in the Green option.
Furthermore, skiers can also wash down their picnic with a bottle of Bollinger at an extra cost.
Picnic prices start from £9.99 and the service is available in Meribel, Courcheval, Val D’Isere and Tignes.
