Two Chamonix Restaurants Go Greener
Monday, February 1st, 2010
Two of Chamonix’s best restaurants are setting themselves challenges in the cuisine they supply.
For the Café de l’Arve the objective is to only serve food mood from ingredients sourced locally, while the Restaurant L’Impossible, now under new ownership, is attempting to become the first fully organic restaurant in Chamonix.
The Café de l’Arve has set itself the challenge of offering its guests an astonishing cocktail of gourmet cuisine, based solely on local produce, sourced in the Mont-Blanc region including the French Savoy, Swiss Valais and Aosta Valley in Italy.
Mickey and Julien, the talented chefs of the Café de l’Arve have selected the best suppliers and exquisitely fresh produce, combined with an undisputed “savoir-faire”. Diners will judge for themselves.
Meanwhile the authentic Restaurant L’Impossible farmhouse which dates back to 1784 is using healthy organic produce and is showing a healthy respect for rhythm of the seasons too.
The philosophy of the new proprietors of this traditional establishment is that, “Eating organic produce is one way of showing consideration for our planet, whilst giving our body the nutritive balance necessary to live serenely with oneself and others”.
