Tignes To Reopen For Summer Skiing
Friday, June 20th, 2008

If your Christmas ski holidays still seem too far in the distance then fear not, as Tignes will be open for those looking to enjoy summer ski holidays.
Following the opening of Les 2 Alpes in early June, the Ski Club of Great Britain reports that skiing on the Grande Motte glacier in Tignes will commence from this weekend (June 21st 2008).
Meanwhile, Val d’Isere will reopen for glacier skiing the following weekend of June 28th.
Tignes will be open for summer glacier skiing until August 31st.
Ski Club notes that there are currently 110 hectares of skiable area on the glacier in Les 2 Alpes closed.
However, for snowboarders the terrain park is "one of the best in Europe" and boasts two half-pipes, a boardercross course and a number of lines of jumps and rails.
