Second Intrawest Village Opens In Europe

Intrawest, the company behind Whistler and now owner of about a dozen other big Nortth American resorts will begin to open its second European resort, in Flaine, France, this weekend.
The new four star residence Flaine Montsoleil which opens tomorrow, Saturday, December 20, is the first part of the new development, which follows the success of the company’s Arc 1950 Le Village at Les Arcs.
Intrawest has built a reputation based on its car-free resorts with high quality accommodation and efficient lift systems. The company specialises in luxury finishing and convenient ski-in, ski-out access.
Intrawest has bought their expertise to Flaine, located just an hour from Geneva airport, as part of the resort’s huge multi million euro investment to optimise the ski area over the next few years.
Flaine Montsoleil is located in a quiet position directly on a new ski slope where a chairlift has been added to render the residence totally ski-in ski-out.
Over the next few years Flaine Montsoleil will add a comprehensive list of facilities to include an outdoor heated swimming pool, Jacuzzi, saunas, steam room and fitness area. The overall masterplan of Flaine Montsoleil will feature further residences and add a new selection of shops, restaurants, bars and a leisure centre for resort guests.
