Paradiski Offers Highest Quality, Safety and Environment Management Standards
Friday, January 2nd, 2009
The French Paradiski region has now qualified for all three of the major international service-standards – Quality, Safety and Environment (QSE).
The companies operating La Plagne, Les Arcs and Peisey-Vallandry, which are part of the giant Paradiski ski area, obtained international QSE certification, which is based on the ISO 9001 (Quality), OHSAS 18001 (Safety) and ISO 14001 (Environment) standards.
Paradiski belongs to a select group of large, interconnected ski areas. With QSE certification it takes its place among key players upholding environmental awareness and management of natural resources in keeping with sustainable development priorities.
Ask anyone at Paradiski and they will tell you: “Quality is our commitment, safety is our priority and the environment is our culture.”
Environmentally responsible resorts As part of Paradiski the management company at Peisey-Vallandry has signed partnership agreements with the Vanoise National Park and Frapna, a regional nature protection group, to protect species living on the ski area. It is also working with France’s Forestry Commission (ONF) to replant forests and protect saplings.
In all Paradiski resorts pocket ashtrays are distributed to skiers. Special bins for collecting out-of-date ski passes are also strategically located. Last year more than 30% of all passes were recycled. And to round off the season a clean-up of the Paradiski slopes is organized every year at the end of the season, with help from staff and volunteers.
