New Gondolas And Ski Lifts In Europe
Thursday, September 20th, 2007
Britons heading out for a ski holiday in France will be pleased to know that new facilities are currently being built at several ski resorts.
Ski Club of Great Britain reports that two new eight-seater gondola lifts are currently being constructed at Val Thorens which are intended to replace the old Cairn and Caron gondolas.
Those looking to enjoy some 2008 skiing should find that the lifts are in action when they visit Val Thorens, in fact the ski club reports that the resort is promising that a minimum of 70 per cent of its runs will be open during the winter season, offering a free day’s lift pass to those who find this is not the case.
Also, the new gondolas should benefit those on a family ski holiday with less experienced skiers in the group as they are intended to provide better access to a new blue piste and lower parts of the ski area.
Meanwhile, skiers heading to Switzerland will be happy to know that a lift is being constructed in Verbiers to transport skiers and snowboarders from Tzoumaz to Savoleyres via an eight-person gondola.
