Meribel Launches Ski Taxi
Wednesday, September 2nd, 2009
Meribel, located in the heart of the world’s largest lift-linked ski region, the 3 Valleys in France, has a announced a new initiative for the coming winter.
The resorts new ‘ski taxi’ service is modelled on a service offered to disabled skiers who are unable to use their legs and are guided around the ski slopes on a special seated ski, controlled by a ski instructor.
The idea is that when a couple have two different objectives from their winter holiday, perhaps one is a skier and one isn’t, the ski taxi allows the non-skier to join the skier on the slopes, perhaps transporting them for a lunchtime meeting at a remote restaurant not located next to one of Meribel’s passenger lifts (even though Meribel operates more gondola lifts than any other).
The service is offered by the resort’s ESF ski school (www.esf-meribel.com)

Good idea!
(And if the snowtrain was running this season, they could have filled another obvious market gap by organising cheap dedicated transfers from Moutiers!)
