Friday, January 30th, 2009
Following the completion of Arc 1950: Le Village, Intrawest’s second resort development has begun opening its top quality doors this winter, at Flaine.
The first residential building, Terrasses d’Eos, phases 1 and 2 have opened with 160 apartments between them.
New lifts in the region have improved the local ski slopes for all and created a link to the new village.
A fixed quad chairlift, Les Gerats, provides a fast connection to Intrawest village and to the entire Gérats beginner zone, with four easy green runs, so shuttles bus rides are no longer be required.
In addition a new Beginner’s Zone has opened increasing the number of easy pistes and a new lift makes it easier for skiers to return to the top of the resort without needing to remove their skis to ride the bucket lift or gondola. The area has direct access from the Front de Neige and Flaine Forum.
In Addition a new 1.7km long six seater chailift accessing the Diamant Noir, Faust and Emeraude pistes and with a 3,000 skiers per hour capacity has opened. This eases access between the left-hand and right-hand sides of the giant Flaine ski area and optimises access to the ski runs from thebottom of the resort.
