Get Fit For France Skiing
Tuesday, November 20th, 2007
Holidaymakers are being advised to get into shape before heading out for ski holidays in France this winter.
According to Halifax, 38 per cent of Brits who enjoyed a skiing holiday last year admitted to being out of shape while on the slopes.
Furthermore, unfit skiers claim that day three is the point at which their aches and pains begin to kick in while on a ski holiday.
"Everyone planning to go skiing or snowboarding this winter should ready his or her muscles in preparation. Winter sports use muscle groups that are very specific to the sport," advised Tim Carter, snow sports manager at the SnowDome.
Those wishing to get into shape ahead of a ski break may wish to tone their muscles and hone their skills on an artificial ski slope here in the UK.
The Guardian recently listed Manchester’s new Chill Factore in its top ten resorts for beginner skiers, noting that skiers could practise their techniques before taking a holiday in the mountains.
