French Resorts In Joint Lift Pass Initiative
Wednesday, November 7th, 2007
A number of ski resorts in the Three Valleys, Paradiski and Espace Killy areas of France have started a joint lift pass scheme, it has emerged.
Courchevel, Meribel, La Plagne, La Tania, Les Arcs, Les Menuires, St Martin de Belleville, Tignes, Val Thorens and Val d’Isere are among the 12 resorts participating in the initiative, according to The Ski Club of Great Britain.
Entitled the XXL Pass, the product enables people enjoying ski holidays in any of these resorts to spend a day at another participating resort for €10 (£6.90) and is available to holders of lift passes for at least five days.
Al Morgan from The Ski Club’s Information Department commented: "It’s obviously a bit of a trek to go from one ski area to another but for people who have a car and are out in a resort for a while it’s a great way to visit another area."
Frances Tuke, a spokesperson for the Association of British Travel Agents, recently noted that ski holidays are popular seasonal break options for people looking for something other than winter sun.
