Al Murray, 4 Poofs, Rich Hall and Phil Kay At Meribel’s Altitude Festival
Monday, February 22nd, 2010
The Altitude Festival, a combination of comedy, music and snow fun, is back in Meribel in March for it’s third edition.
Described as an “A Laugh-alanche – eat my pun!†by founder Marcus Brigstocke, stalwart of Argumental as well as regular on QI and Radio 4’s The Now Show, the event takes place between March 20th and 26th 2010.
Twinning their love of the slopes with a good hearty laugh, festival curators Brigstocke and Andrew Maxwell have lined up some of the world’s funniest men.
This year Al Murray, a Perrier Award winner who was voted #16 on Channel 4’s 100 Greatest Stand-ups, the nation’s favourite publican and star of ITV1’s Al Murray’s Happy Hour, and Another Audience With…, The Pub Landlord will be stepping out from behind the taps to address a heady brew of topics with his imitable boozer-based logic and audience banter.
Also joining the throng will be the incredible Phil Kay a one time best newcomer at the Perrier’s, who will be delivering a high octane blizzard of surreal asides.
Another former Perrier winner, Rich Hall, who has become one of QIs most featured guests will be returning to Altitude once again with his trademark deadpan delivery. And Jonathan Ross’s chat-show house band 4 Poofs & A Piano who regularly play-in the guests on the show to an audience of millions will be bringing their lauded show of ‘jaunty reworkings’ to the Alps.
Musical turns come courtesy of Devon’s finest The Quails, Daisy B, Gallie and Albenaza who will be joining acoustic alien Newton Faulkner, deck-wizard DJ Yoda, comedy-funk masters The Cuban Brothers plus a knockout set DJ Set from Russ Cuban, The Dub Pistols Sound System feat. Rodney P and Barry Ashworth (DJ Set).
In all the Festival features over 50 shows and events. Full details can be found at www.altitudefestival.com Tickets are available now through the site at 55 Euros for a 3 Show pass or 90 Euros for a 5 Show pass.
