Ski Gadget For Crystal Ski Travellers
Monday, November 19th, 2007
Holidaymakers heading to ski France resorts such as Tignes with Crystal Ski Holidays now have the opportunity to keep their friends updated on their adventures with a piece of sports technology.
Thomson Ski Holidays reports that customers will be offered the choice of buying or renting a SportsDo GPS tracker which records their day’s skiing complete with a satellite piste map detailing lifts.
Resorts where this unit can be used with mobile phones include Soldeu, Kitzbuhel, Banff, Alpe D’Huez, Courchevel, Flaine, La Plagne, Les Deux Alpes, Tignes and Saas Fee.
The technology will enable skiers to keep tabs on how far they travel during their ski holidays and how fast they ski or snowboard.
Furthermore, SportsDo Live transmits a skier’s exact location in real-time to a web portal, allowing family and friends to keep up to date on the holidaymaker’s activities in the snow.
The device can even be used to locate people off the slopes during après ski, making it perfect for those on group ski holidays.
