UK holidaymakers taking to the ski slopes this season are doing so in style, it has been reported.
Fair Investment Company reports that according to Direct Line, skiers and snowboarders spend an average of £1,200 on clothing and equipment for their ski holidays.
The news comes after Direct Line revealed that 1.15 million Britons went on ski holidays last ski season.
Meanwhile, Fair Investment Company claims that it is an increasing trend among skiers and those on snowboarding holidays to purchase designer wear and equipment for use on the pistes.
In other ski news, it has been reported that the ski resort of Zermatt is to benefit from a new 24-hour train service.
Trains will now run to the resort throughout the night from Tasch courtesy of the Lotschberg Base Tunnel which operates from near Bern to the Valais, the Ski Club of Great Britain reports.
