Whistler To Open Olympic Venues To Public Next Winter

Winter plans to capitalise on worldwide publicity from the Olympic Games, which they estimate were viewed by more than half the world’s population, by opening up several of their Olympic competition venues to the paying public next winter.
The Whistler Sliding Centre which hosted bobsleigh, luge and skeleton events will open a public ride program next season for visitors who want to try bobsleigh and skeleton on the Olympic track.
The Whistler Olympic / Paralympic Park which staged cross country ski, biathlon and ski jumping events will also be open to all and promoted as a destination for cross-country skiers from around the world.
There will also be Olympic themed events in Whistler Medals Plaza which will becomes a community and public gathering place for future events and entertainments as well as a commemoration to the 2010 Games.
All visitors arriving by road will benefit from the 600 million investment to improve the safety, reliability and capacity of the Sea to Sky Highway between Vancouver and Whistler, providing a faster, easier and more enjoyable journey to and from the resort.
