Spring Madness at Mont-Sainte-Anne

Quebec’s Mont-Sainte-Anne is running its annual Spring Madness Festival through to April 25th this year.
The Festival brings five successive fun packed week-ends in which live music shows, friendly competitions, BBQs, sun drenched terraces and outdoor hot tubs are the order of the day.
A special low priced Spring lift pass is also on offer.
The big festival’s kick-off is on March 27th and 28th with a rail jam at the base of the mountain, the first of its kind in North America and welcomes cross-country skiers to climb to the mountain’s summit. There’ll also be free bongo sessions and lessons at the base and the crowd can also discover the 2011 car models from sponsor Volkswagen.
Easter weekend from April 2nd to 5th will include an Easter egg hunt and in addition to the bunnies and ponies at the base, kids will love chasing the giant Easter bunnies around the mountain. Once you catch them, they’ll hand you a chocolaty treat. Guests can also, discover the mountain with a Family Rally and try our maple taffy at our authentic sugar shack, located directly in the Pichard trail.
On April 10th The Olympian Bud Light Fest brings the resort’s Olympic athletes Vincent Marquis and P-A Rousseau, who were 4th and 5th respectively back home to enjoy the sun and practice their favourite sport. There’ll be a friendly Mogul Challenge that will take place in the Expert Zone, from 11am to 1pm and a DJ, bar and BBQs directly on the slope.
The theme for the April 17-18 weekend is Country with the chance to be a Cowboy for a day and learn lasso throwing and horse riding. There’ll be haystacks on the slopes and all the “cowboys†will have the opportunity to enjoy horseback riding, to try lasso throwing contest and attend a memorable Johnny Cash cover show.
Finally the weekend of April 24-25 sees good skiing, dining and fine wines at the summit – La Dolce Vita. Now a classic for all foodies, the last week-end of the season is sure to please even the most difficult palates.
On the Saturday the best chefs in the region will offer some marvellous degustation. On the 25th, local terroir producers will showcase their unique concoctions. A wine and spirituous degustation will also be available at the summit all week-end. To crown it all, Gabrielle Shonk, a jazz trio will perform on the terrace at the summit chalet to add to the relaxed mood.
